Our BDTV228 student team is working hard this summer to capture all things sports ahead of the school year! Today, intern students from all schools attended Bremen to interview football players about their upcoming season.
There's nothing normal about childhood cancer...like the opportunity to meet an NBA player to talk volleyball and Roblox before being honored in front of 400 kids at a basketball camp to benefit...kids just like you. OF Teacher Katie Gomez's son Jay got to meet NBA Rockstar and Cleveland Cavaliers player Max Strus, a HUGE supporter of the @Weish4Ever Foundation, at such an event. Jay and the Gomez family found that Max and his WHOLE family (and a few NBA friends) could not have been more kind and this whole event came at the perfect time as Jay has faced some of his toughest physical battles yet. Ever since Jay was a baby, Mrs. Gomez would quote A.A. Milne: "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you'll ever know." The Gomezes are living that quote quite literally now. Thanks to the Andrew Weisher Foundation for providing such a terrific experience for this warrior of a young man and his family, and to @MaxStrus for making them feel so very special. #TheBengalWay #HeartofaBengal
