Juan Cisneros, a student at Delta Academy, had an incredible opportunity to step into the world of culinary arts through Joliet Junior College’s “Chef for a Day” program.
His day began with preparing an apple crisp and pasta with a rich bolognese sauce, quickly getting hands-on in one of the college’s commercial kitchens. Juan spent the day rotating through several of JJC’s professional-grade kitchens, working side-by-side with current culinary students as they prepped and cooked for the day.
One of the highlights? An exciting ice sculpture demonstration that showcased another creative side of the culinary world. To wrap up his experience, Juan enjoyed a well-deserved meal at one of JJC’s student-run restaurants.
It was a day full of learning, exploration, and inspiration—giving Juan a true taste of life in the culinary field.
