On February 27th, Delta Academy concluded its month-long Black History Month celebration with a powerful and inspiring event. Throughout February, students and staff engaged in meaningful discussions, decorated the building, and honored Black history in their classrooms.
For the final event, 23 students elected to attend the presentation, which featured student-led spoken word performances by Andre Miller, Ashley Ortiz, Jaylan Walker, and Angela Riedy.
The highlight of the event was guest speaker Kevin Fair, CEO and Founder of I Play Games! A Chicago native, fair shared his journey of perseverance, entrepreneurship, and his impact on the gaming industry.
The event was a fitting conclusion to a month of education, creativity, and celebration, leaving students with a deeper appreciation for Black history and cultural contributions.
