World Language Mission:

We believe that the ability to communicate is at the heart of interaction. Language learning promotes understanding, tolerance, and respect for others. In an increasingly global and diverse society, knowing another language is essential and should be part of every person’s education. Learning a new language prepares students to be global citizens by developing an awareness and appreciation of other cultures and perspectives.

English Language Learners Mission:

The Bremen High School District English Language Learners program prides itself on the ability to communicate with students, parents, and district staff as a way to advocate and inform all stakeholders of our students’ progress. We believe in the importance of promoting and celebrating cultural and linguistic diversity as we embrace and welcome students into our program and support them as they integrate into their new community.

Instructional Mission:

The World Language Department strives to develop the skills of our students within the Three Modes of Communication (Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational) while enriching their language experience in music, art, literature, and history.

As a member of professional learning communities, we are committed to continual professional development to improve our practice and meet the diverse needs of our language learners.
