school board members of Bremen High School District 228 and give them the recognition they have earned for providing a local voice for our community’s education decisions! #ThankABoardMember
For the past four decades, Bremen High Schools' National Honor Society (NHS) and Student Council have come together each fall to organize a community-wide food drive, collecting non-perishable items to support local food pantries in the community. Since its inception in 1985, the Bremen community food drive has collected nearly 400,000 pounds of non-perishable donations. This year marks the 40th anniversary of this tradition!!

Dear District 228 Community,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of a tragic incident that occurred in the back parking lot of Hillcrest High School on Saturday, November 9th. During a junior high boys' basketball tournament held that afternoon, a parent attending the game from a neighboring community became a victim of gun violence.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family, loved ones, and all those affected by this heartbreaking event. The incident is currently under investigation, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement. As this remains an active police matter, we are unable to share further details at this time. We respectfully ask that any inquiries be directed to the Country Club Hills Police Department.
The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community continue to be our highest priority. Counselors and support resources are available for anyone in need during this difficult time.

Our Delta Academy students had a blast volunteering at South Suburban Humane Society today! Students were able to learn about all of the different functions that come together to run the facility. They made treats and played with dogs that are available for adoption as well!

We had a great time celebrating Mrs. Brazel, Kleenex's Hero of the Classroom, Friday morning! Our students had a blast! Thank you to Kleenex for recognizing one of our amazing educators here in District 228!
On Oct. 30, the Delta Program took 22 students for an incentive field trip to The Old Joliet Prison for a guided historical tour of the prison and grounds. Students learned about the history of the prison, events that led to prison reform, and were able to go inside many of the buildings to see how prisoners were housed when the prison was still in operation.

Ms. Neylon's live taught health class is in full swing at Delta Academy! The students at Delta Academy are currently in the Nutrition Unit , After learning about all things nutrition, we couldn't leave out the actual process of intaking food, digesting it and releasing it! So, how better than taking a little Magic School Bus field trip through the Digestive System! Ms. Neylon's class had some fun digesting a classic today in class, Cheerios! Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 10th from 12:00 pm until 7:00 pm. This year we will continue offering parents the option of having their conference with the teacher either virtually between 12PM and 3PM, or in-person between 3PM and 7PM.

Delta Academy had a great time at the career expo today! Students had the opportunity to meet with various schools and programs to talk about plans for after graduation!
South Suburban College is offering a free, non-credit AI Overview course beginning Tuesday Oct. 15 for 8 weeks. The class will meet in person one night per week with activities/assignments planned for the rest of the week. Check out more details below!
