Bremen High School’s Exceptional Children doing Everyday Life Skills (EXCEL) students did a phenomenal job in the Special Olympics 2024 Spring Games!
Bremen High School had five students compete in the games, which took place at Thornwood High School this May. Their hard work, dedication, and excitement earned them high ranking positions in the competition. The students are listed below:
Alexis Graves: 4th Place 50M Run, 2nd Place Softball Throw
Iyanna Graves: 5th Place 50M Run, 2nd Place Softball Throw
Keion Braggs: 7th Place 50M Run, 3rd Place Softball Throw
Omarion Collins: 3rd Place 50M Run, 7th Place Softball Throw
Jamari Johnson: 3rd Place 50M Run, 1st Place Softball Throw
Bremen has one State Qualifier for the Special Olympics in June. Jamari Johnson won first for his softball throw, and will move on to the state event on June 8th at Illinois State University. This will be Jamari's second consecutive year earning first place and securing a spot in the state event!

Become a part of the exciting sports broadcasting and writing world by covering your school’s sports stories as a press intern. A variety of roles and skills are needed including photographers, content writing, and videographers. All students will be trained in sports videotaping, content writing skills, and receive media byline recognition through our partnership with The Patch.

Want to become a filmmaker? Join the free BDTV 228 Film Camp this summer. Through four fun filled days you will learn through a variety of hands-on activities the process of filmmaking using professional equipment. Activities include how to write a script, produce, light, shoot, and edit short films.

District 228 is ecstatic to announce that nearly 140 students are being recognized by the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) and InnerView in the seventh Annual Community Service Impact Awards!
This program, open to all U.S. students, has been designed to connect student community service activities, skill development, and commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to transform our world. The Kroger Co. is presenting the fifth annual Zero Hero Awards to students for taking action to help create communities free of hunger and waste.
